Peanut Butter Squares

I love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Add oats and it's pretty much amazing. That's what these bars are. I got this recipe from my sister Amy and it is so easy and so delicious. The recipe says to not only top this with the chocolate, but also to put a peanut butter frosting on top of that. I've never done that because it seems like it would be a little bit of a sugar overload, but I'm going to include it on here so you have the option to try it if you'd like. Let me know if you do and if you liked it! I think they'd be pretty darn good any way you make them.

Peanut Butter Squares

1/2 c. butter (1 cube)
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. peanut butter
1/2 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1 c. flour
1 c. oats

1/2 bag. chocolate chips

Frosting:
2 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. peanut butter
milk to thin

Cream butter/sugars. Add egg, 1/3 c. peanut butter, soda, salt, flour and oats. Cook in 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 10-15 min. (It may take a little longer). Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread when melted. Frost with peanut butter frosting (optional).

You really got that recipe from me? Wow, I don't even remember it. It looks really good, though, so yay for me :)

Yeah, those look really good. I was going to have to ask Amy why she didn't give this recipe to me, but I guess she doesn't remember it! :)

Thanks for your comment on my sweet and sour, I'm so embarrassed! I forgot to change the directions to reflect the changes I'd made to the recipe. So thanks! I went back and changed it. You were exactly right with everything you did! That's because you're a great cook. :)
