1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. oats
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips (~2 cups)
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, but very delicious!)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, soda, salt, oats) and set aside. Beat butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until fluffy and then add dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Press into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 17-20 minutes, until light golden brown (don't over bake!). Let cool slightly before cutting and serving.
